Did the pediatrician do any tests or anything to determine the cause? Reflux (besides normal spitting up) in infants is concerning enough, but in a newborn even more so. If the pediatrician’s first tactic is to prescribe long-term acid reducers to a newborn, I would be getting a second opinion, to rule out a structural anomaly, like a defective sphincter. Just my two cents, for whatever it’s worth.
