Well, I got my veggie seeds and medicinal seeds (one and same?) separated. Now to get to the inventory this weekend.
I may just have to put in an order to HH to get some false unicorn seeds. Got some germinated but lost them due to letting them dry out after transplanting.

I’d like to give the false unicorn root a go too. It sounds like a very valuable herb.

Have you got the books; Fruit as Medicine and Vegetables as Medicine?
The first time I ever treated someone was my Mum. They’d sent her home from hospital peeing blood and puking with kidney stones. They said she had to pass them herself. She was white as a ghost and covered in sweat and nearly fainting while she vomited with the pain she was in. She couldn’t stand properly and just stayed in the bathroom doubled up over the sink. Way back then, I was just starting out and didn’t even know what most herbs even looked like, let alone what they did.
I had the book, Vegetables as medicine. It said for kidney stones, have the person eat asparagus. (Even canned) it worked very well and fast and over the years has proven itself over and over with different people.

Been working on getting my seeds going today. A little less than two weeks ago I put some Astragalus in my zip lock method and now have three sprouted. I put them into individual pots.
I started Cayenne and Wild Yam on the same day, but put the seed directly into soil in pots. Still waiting.
Today I started Lomatium, Lemon Balm, Chamomile (Roman), Gumweed, Balsam Root so far. Lobelia and ashwaghanda are on the list too.
Will be spreading mullein, yellow coneflower, occidentalis, yarrow and balsam root once the wind dies down.

That reminds me…I need to harvest my Ashwagandha seed and see if it’s any good.

Tonight I did a broadcast seeding of a mix of balsam root, yellow cone flower, occidentalis, mullein, teasel, gumweed and yarrow. I did this in my new growing area down by our pond. Hoping for some exciting things to show off in June.

OK, this is not about seeds but it is EXCITING news about my herb plants.
Two days ago I had 1 goldenseal plant up. Today I have FIVE of them!!! I also have seen all three of my Black Cohosh producing growth! This gives me encouragement to expand the herd. I did have 10+ plants purchased last fall but I did not overwinter them properly and lost them all. :face palm: I also have both Baneberry plants producing growth.
Oh, and my bloodroot has a tiny little leaf. Nothing from the wild yam yet. 🙁

🙁 Very cool. I guess I’ll putter out and see if any of my Appalachian stuff survived the winter. Don’t have much hope. They had a tough summer. Need lots better shade.
