StudentHello all! I just completed the lesson on skin and am looking for advice. Has anyone had any luck with acne formulas? I see the herb store is out of the acne formula right now so I was thinking of using the liver builder as a detox and taking chaste tree tincture for hormone balancing? I would love to hear any other successful methods you’ve used, thanks in advance!

StudentFor my teen I chose liver support formula instead of the liver builder because Doc’s acne formula had the berberine components (oregon grape/yellow dock). Â Then I mixed a tea with the rest of the acne formula: Â chaste tree berry, echinacea, burdock, red clover, licorice. Â Too soon to claim success, but that was my approach.

StudentA daily application of rose petal tea and/or calendula, applied to a cosmetic pad, might be helpful as well, in drying out the pustules, and killing the bacteria. If it’s really bad, oak is also strongly astringent and antibacterial, as is chaparral, depending on what’s available where you live.

StudentI used the Acne formula for my daughter (19yrs). I made a deal with her that if she tried it for 8 weeks and not happy, I would take her to a new Derm … she was not happy with the results from her first Derm Dr. and was not currently on any other therapy. She believed the acne formula was working and we did the usual take a day or two off every couple weeks. When we got to the couple months, I asked her to take the recommended couple weeks off and then it all broke loose. She had the worst outbreak of her life and refused to listen to me again. We found an a new Derm office and she has been working with them ever since. So, I am thinking you should not take two weeks off after a couple months but I do not have the experience to tell you how to handle that long term. We beleive the formula was clearing up her skin so I hope you find great success.
