I’ve been taking slippery elm for it’s antidiarrheal effects for years. I had my colon removed due to ulcerative colitis and after each meal I take psyllium powder for it’s bulking effects and slippery elm for it’s digestive regulator effects. Can I take Chinese elm with equal success? Can I replace slippery elm entirely and take certain astringent herbs instead? You know something cheaper and not endangered? Thank you!
