In Michael Moore’s book Medicinal Plants of the Mountain West it talks about alfalfa “tea.” I put everything I can in a smoothie, so…

Is it necessary to heat alfalfa to get make it, as Moore says, “in free form” so it can be absorbed well?

For nearly everything heat, light and humidity are enemies. If you can put raw alfalfa into your smoothies you are much better off.

That’s how the bunnies use it. They don’t have thumbs so it’s hard for them to turn on the stove. 🙂

There are few things more wonderful for the body than raw alfalfa.

Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.

JUST MAKE SURE IT IS NOT GMO ALFALFA! GMO foods are really bad for our bodies. My wife has been recovering from GMO poisoning for several years now.

Thank you! This information is so helpful. I have read that there are could be contraindications with excess alfalfa intake. And so I’m wondering, when I use it (or any other herb raw) is there a guide to how much one should have in a day? I tend to think the more the better when it comes to smoothies and greens. So I’m wondering what would “excess” be?

I work at a plumbing shop. Last Friday they were telling toilet stories. One of them involved a plugged toilet and a woman that ate LOTS and LOTS of alfalfa. I will only give the details if you demand it. :barf:

Is alfalfa difficult for children to digest? If so, at what age would they be able to digest it well?

Don’t know why it would be. So long as their old enough to eat regular food.
