I suggested dandelion tea to a co-worker for excess fluid in her ear. I have used it before when my ears felt stopped up. She was looking up where to purchase it and found a site that warned if you have an allergy to daisies or ragweed you could have a severe allergic reaction to dandelion. She is allergic to ragweed. Anyone ever heard of this before?

Both are in the family Asteraceae (as are a bazillion other herbs). So there may be (but isn’t always) some crossover of allergies.
Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.
