What do you all use as an anti-caking agent when you powder your onions and garlic?

I have found that 1 T of homemade/homegrown onion powder needs approximately 1/16 tsp bentonite clay to keep it from clumping.

Is bentonite clay a good option to have daily in small amounts like this? Any risks?

Does anyone know of a better safe choice for an anti-caking agent? I’d really like to use one I can grow in my garden 🙂

I don’t know anything about anti-caking agents, but maybe you could just dry the onions and garlic and then powder them when you use them.

Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.

It’s a great idea Doc but in reality I don’t always have the time when I’m preparing a meal. So I try to grind enough for a couple weeks at least. I use a lot of garlic and onion powder.

Is Bentonite Clay safe to have a little every day?
