Any suggestions on herbs for an antibiotic resistant UTI? My 86-year-old father has had recurrent UTI’s for the past year. 2 months ago they discovered it was an ESBL infection (antibiotic-resistant, caused by E. coli) but it has still come back twice even with different, heavy-duty antibiotics. Any suggestions on herbs that will help it stay gone this time?

            Susan,

I’m so sorry that your father has to go through this. I can totally relate to his pain.

My UTI’s are all E. coli based and antibiotic resistant, those darn things put me in ICU for 7 days fighting for my life, in 2021. Then in 2022 I got another UTI, and I fought it with 6 Garlic pearl’s 2x daily, 2 cranberry capsules 3x daily, and Juniper Berry capsules 3x daily. I drank 100% cranberry Juice (it’s not very yummy). I also drank more water than a fish. My urologist was so impressed that I was able to fight it naturally and have better results than high doses of IV antibiotics, and I only had trace amounts of E. coli left and that I was determined to get rid of all of it with natural remedies.

Now if he is unable to swallow pills you can add the Cranberry powder and Juniper berry to apple sauce, and I would figure out a way to get the garlic in him. Garlic is a natural antibiotic and will also help keep him from getting any yeast infections.  If you can I would also try to get him to take Oil of Oregano or get him to eat more of it in soups etc. Oregano is also a great natural antibiotic.

If you can make a cranberry tincture and give that daily that would even be better. Cranberry keeps bacteria from sticking to the wall of the bladder. I personally take a cranberry tincture that I made 3x daily for keeping my bladder healthy. All I did was chop up some organic (if you can find them) cranberries and add them to 100 prof Vodka, or you can use a food grade glycerin, let it steep for 4-6 weeks in a cool, dark, dry area. I shake mine every few days to make sure it’s well blended. Be careful if you do an oil of Oregano, it’s a hot oil and can burn the skin, I mix mine with a carrier oil if I am adding it to my bladder and kidney area on my body. Also watch the sugar intake, it seems to feed it, mine are always worse when I do processed sugars at all.

I hope this works for you; I know it sounds very overwhelming. but this is way better than him going septic.

            God Bless and Merry Christmas.

Hi Susan, I recently listened to a podcast on making tea with pine needles. Make sure you are dealing with the Pinus genus first. But the needles have medicinal properties that may help with UTIs.

Hi, I made a remarkable recent discovery of an ancient Indian (from India) panacea: Sida acuta.  Go to William Bruneau’s website (bbruneau.com) and cure your father.  It’s a game changer.

Susan, a naturopathic doctor gave me Olive Leaf Extract for a UTI I got once…from antibiotics after wisdom teeth extraction. Within 24 hours, I was pain-free. Took it for 10 days, 3x a day, as he recommended. Eight other friends used it for uti and all claimed it worked well for them and family members. I’m new here, so if I’m not allowed to mention things like this, please let me know and delete this. Here’s my disclaimer: I’m not a dr. 🙂

I love olive leaf. It’s a great antimicrobial and immune stimulant.

Have a look here. I talk about UTIs on slide 30ish.

If the UTI and Immunity Support aren’t enough, you could add other antibiotic herbs like those in the BugBuster Formula
