My fire cider is almost gone and I can’t remember the recipe I used. I have given some to a couple of friends and they thought is was wonderful. Anyone have a recipe that they are willing to share?

        Thanks everyone!

This one is from Melissa K Norris from Modern Homesteading.

1 Qt glass Jar (dark colored to help protect from light, if you have)

          1 Med onion-chopped

          1 Head Garlic ( 5-6 buds – chopped)

2 Med Jalapeño peppers – chopped

          Crushed Cayenne pepper (to taste)

2″ finger of fresh ginger – chopped

Optional:  Add sprig of Rosemary or Thyme (not too much)

Optional: 1/2C Horseradish (if you have thyroid issues, do not use)

          Optional: Turmeric + Black Pepper

          Optional: Cardamom, cloves, Allspice Berries

Submerge all ingredients in raw Apple Cider Vinegar (with the Mother)

Use a glass weight on top of ingredients to keep them submerged. Put in dark place.

Let sit for 4 weeks (not longer, as the ingredients start to break down)

Strain the ingredients out. Use the liquid

Optional: Once strained, you can add honey, maple syrup, water etc. to taste.

          Uses: colds, congestion, sinuses

              Hi Karen,

If you are a book junky like myself(Rachael), check out Rosemary Gladstar’s book: “Fire Cider!: 101 Zesty Recipes for Health-Boosting Remedies Made with Apple Cider Vinegar”.  It has a bunch of great fire cider recipes!

                  Hi Rachel!
I love Rosemary Gladstar! I didn’t realize she had a book on fire cider. Thank you so much!
