StudentDoes anyone use an app for plant ID? (Preferably I phone compatible). There’s so much in bloom right now that I’d like to know what is all around me!

Student“Seek” by iNaturalist is a good app! it tells you what the plant is AND if you point it at an animal or bug it will tell you what it is!

StudentThe iPhone now has a free identifier built into iPhoto. Take the plant’s picture, below the photo is a center “information” icon. If there is an asterisk/star on the i-circle, tap it… a menu comes up and the first option is “look up- plant.” (If not, try a software update). It gives you Siri knowledge results, or sometimes a couple options. If hiking and there’s no service, look it up later. Nothing is 100% accurate, but it’s a good place to start research.

Homestead InstructorHi Dolores,
There is a thread over on the Plant Identification section of the forum on phone apps. I like PictureThis. I use it on an iPhone. Probably works on other phones too. Here’s the thread:

I’m going to lock this thread. Everybody go jabber on the other one so we can keep this good topic in one place. :0)
