I tried to upload the pictures in the link directly to the blog, but I am limited to 256kbps size images. Can you tell me if this is Arrowleaf? As you can see, I have found a large patch of it on the side of the mountain just outside of little cottonwood mountain in Utah.

        Thanks in advance.

Sure looks like it to me. Ours is done with blooming up here.

It can still be harvested in bloom and after bloom with good medicinal properties?

TOTALLY goes against what I have learned about harvesting roots. From Michael Moore’s book:

COLLECTING AND PREPARATIONS: Gather the root for fresh-plant tincturing in the late spring and early summer, when it is juicy and resinous.

              So, there you go.

              He also states:

Dry the late summer and early fall root by Method B for a 1:5, 60 percent alcohol tincture, or slice thinly for a decoction or simply a woody lozenge.
