Wondering if anyone has had success with any herbs for barometric pressure related headaches? My dad and I both tend to get them when the weather changes (right now from dry summer to cool/rainy season, but it happens from spring to summer as well). Feels like it’s more vascular–more migraine feeling vs tension headache type of pain. Thanks for any input!

Have you tried putting your feet in a bucket of very warm water to draw all the blood away from your head? One of my family members have done that because they feel that extra blood pools in their head and they can even feel their heart beat in their head at times I think. Just a thought…

I definitely do better with heat than cold, and a hot footbath is always relaxing. I know others do better with cold (footbath or ice pack on their head) but that just makes it throb more. Thanks for the reminder!

sorry this isn’t a herbal consideration but try putting a small amount of celtic sea salt or redmond’s real salt on your tongue then drink a full glass of water. do this every time you drink water. see if this helps. did you try some peppermint?

This is a great suggestion…I usually add trace mineral drops, electrolytes or a pinch of Celtic sea salt to my water bottle, but I’ve never tried putting it on my tongue directly! I’ll have to try that, thanks Amy!

not herbal, but I used to get loads of vascular migraines also associated with barimetric pressure. I moved from the mountains to the coast and being in a lower elevation helps alot. But my neurologist here, has me taking 200 mg  of Co Q 10, twice a day and that has brought me froma headache once a month to maybe 2 a year? Can’t wait to grow my own feverfew this summer to add to my arsenal.

I have personally found that often the pressure I feel is actually inflamed sinus passages.  Saline spray and Rosemary/Lavender compress always feels good.
