StudentI’m looking for an herbal treatment for my warm blood mare. She typically gets fungal splotches each year around fall. I’m also looking for a cleanse or support regiment to strengthen her system. I’m brand new here so just starting out. Any thoughts?
Blessings,

StudentCould you also try some apple cider vinegar mixed with water spray? Have used on dog.
You just have to be careful if it is an open sore and avoid that. Hope that helps.

StudentWe have used apple cider vinegar/water spray on our horses with success. For more open wounds, manuka honey works amazingly well!

StudentTopic AuthorSometimes they have been raw, I’m super careful with those and try to use more soothing remedies. Once they are dry I really try to go after it so it doesn’t come back. She has had a lot of skin issues, they are lessening but I’m always open to new suggestions. Thank you for your response.
Blessings,
Carole

StudentTopic AuthorI haven’t tried that, thanks for the idea. I have used hydrogen peroxide with pretty good success but with the same deal, can’t use on anything open or sore.

StudentThere are several plants with antifungal properties (calendula is Doc’s favorite, but oak and chaparral are great too, as is garlic, and Orgeon grape root). Make a tea, put it in a spray bottle, and spray the splotches as often as you have time to do.
