StudentThis is my first real question on here so I think Im doing it right. My dad has blood parasites, we have seen them in his blood on tests and microscope pictures, but nothing we try gets rid of them. Does anyone have any recommendations on what to try or how to get rid of them?

StudentTopic Authorhe has tried both, ivermectin and the other one, and they dont kill it off. I have talked with him more and have some more information, they are a helminth of some kind in the blood stream. the anthelminthics that are covered in the bit of the class I have gotten through seem to be mostly for gut or bowel worms, are there any that help with worms in the blood stream?

Dr. Patrick Jones
Homestead InstructorHi Levi,
Who diagnosed the parasites? If you tell us the species we’re dealing with, we can give specific recommendations.
The likelihood of a worm (helminth) in the blood of a human is almost zero in North America. If the parasites were diagnosed by a physician or hematologist, let us know what the bug is.
If it was diagnosed by a holistic practitioner, I’d strongly suggest getting a second opinion from a physician (They’re great at diagnosing things. ). Parasites are wildly over diagnosed by “holistic practitioners” with no concept whatsoever of the actual biology of the organisms.
All that said, if you ever do get a true case of parasites, Artemisia annua and milk thistle are quite good for protozoans. The Worms formula is good for worms and also has good anti-protozoal activity too. I’d use all three in a truly verified case of protozoal infection along with some Immunity Support.
As I was writing this response, I decided to whip out a little lesson on parasites. I talk about them in some of the Body Systems lessons but they deserve their own lesson. It’s just a “quickie” rough draft for now, but I’ll deepen and polish it in the next week or so.
