What herbs would be safe with eliquis? I’ve tried to find answers online and from doctors but people don’t seem to know or feel comfortable making a call with it (no worries if you feel the same). Eliquis is supposably less affected by what you consume in comparison to warfarin or coumadin but I feel nervous taking something that may enhance the blood thinners effects or reduce the blood thinners effects. The packet insert says to stay away from St. John’s Wort and there is a lot of  information about that herb but I can’t seem to find anything that indicates things that may be safe. I’m thinking of things like red raspberry leaf tea, marshmallow, cleavers tea and what seem to be relatively calm cleansing herbs.

I also wondered if essential oils may be ok to use topically on the area of the blood clot but can’t find much on google scholar or a regular google search. Dr. Christopher had some ideas online of using oak bark fomentation topically for a clot. https://www.herballegacy.com/Gangrene.html (Look at #4)

If you have any tips that would be so helpful. Thanks!

There aren’t any reported issues with Raspberry leaf, marshmallow or cleavers. Don’t take it with St. John’s wort because St. John’s increases its metabolism so your dose won’t work. Also don’t take it with any herbs that has blood thinning properties.

Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.
