First thing to do in a mastitis case is get a culture and see what kind of mastitis it is. There is contagious mastitis and environmental mastitis. I need to do a whole lesson on mastitis. There are some really important principles to understand for prevention and management.
In the mean time, the short answer is here starting at side #60:
Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.

Thank you Doc. She started with a small lump that we have just been watching. It is now a bit swollen and tender. I looked up infection treatment and have been giving her Calendula/Yarrow/Gumweed/Echinacea/ as a spray topically and as a tea mixed in her feed. I will definetely add the Immunity Support and additional Bug Buster herbs.
I am happy to say that I have either wild crafted, grown or purchased in advance most every herb listed! My little “officina” has grown significantly this last year:) I spent an afternoon recently bottling all of the herbs I have had drying, acquired since early summer. It is time to turn many of them into tinctures.
Thank you Doc! You have been such a blessing!!! I’ll keep you posted on “Rosie”!

Doc, Slide 61 mentions a mamary infusion with calendula and comfrey being good choices. What do you mean specifcally by “mamary infusion?” Just a note, as of this morning, with just the herbs we gave her yesterday, she is already showing signs of improvement:) !!!

If she’s doing better with what you’re doing, I’d just keep doing what you’re doing.
Mammary infusion is making an herbal infusion of strong tea and propylene glycol and infusing it into the udder by sterilizing the teat end and then squirting the solution into the udder using a syringe without a needle. There is some risk of introducing other bacteria into udder when doing that. So, like I said, if she’s already doing better, skip that part.
