Student<p style=”text-align: justify;”>My husband had a stroke in 2018. He slowed down some and has to think through things more than before. He takes an herb concoction of turmeric, frankincense, myrrh, and fenugreek instead of a blood thinner. Do you think these herbs can also help his stroke brain? Are there others that could help?</p>

Homestead InstructorIt’s very difficult to reverse damage done to the brain long ago but there are certainly herbs that can help what’s there work better. :0)
Have a look at the Memory & Alertness formula. That’s the one I use on stroke cases. It’s also the one I use to get past 3 in the afternoon without a Mountain Dew. Don’t take it at bedtime or you’ll be counting lots of sheep. :0)
I talk a lot about the herbs in that formula and other brain topics in the Nervous System lessons.

StudentHello. I have Ginkgo Biloba in mind. As always, please research the herb before taking, to make sure if it is a fit.

StudentThank you! I am new here and just getting started. Please forgive me if you’ve answered this question elsewhere. If so, just ignore me. 🙂 Is this formula safe for children? I have a child who was iron deficient at birth (and for two years after) and though that has been resolved, she was left with developmental delays. She is happy, healthy, and making progress, but I’d love something to help her continue to learn and thrive. Always learning about the brain!

Homestead InstructorIt might be a bit over stimulating for little kids as a long term intervention. Unless they have ADHD, in which case it often has the reverse effect and calms them.

StudentOne book that I have recommends flax seeds or flax seed oil for the omega-3 specific to it. Milky oat tops (unripe) are also recommended. The book is called Be Your Own Doctor II by Rachel Weaver, M.H. if you are interested. The series of books she wrote is very good.

Homestead Instructorfatty acids are really good for the brain. Purselane is a tasty, good source as well.

Homestead InstructorI’d throw it in the freezer and then use it in smoothies.
The Barlean’s Omega products are good sources of fatty acids too and kid’s love them.

StudentWhat about freeze drying herbs, like purslance (or any herb)? Would it stay potent longer, also by packing it without air?
