I fell on the slippery grass on Monday and fractured my radius. I am in a cast, so I can’t apply comfrey topically. I would like to do it internally, but in my last blood work, there was a blip in the liver readings. I am scheduled for follow up bloodwork, but haven’t had it yet. Do the rewards of have some comfrey tea short term, outweigh the possible risks? I have never had anything ever show up on my liver tests before. Or…is there something else that would speed healing? I am inclined to at least do a weak comfrey tea for a few days.

Hi Roxanne sorry to be so slow responding. I missed this one somehow.

I’d guess you’re about healed up at this point but, yes, I think short term use is pretty safe.

I broke my wrist this summer also. I’m so sorry for you.  I took a thin spatula with olive oil and comfrey and slid it inside the cast.  It worked rather well.  I am in therapy to regain full use of the wrist and still using the comfrey.  Good luck!
