        Hi Doc!

I am wondering if boneset would be an appropriate tincture to use for a hairline break in the lower mandible of a 9 year old boy. The poor kid is ready to get on with life and be able to eat solid foods again. The jaw sure is a nasty place for a break.

Also, would the same tincture be useful for a cat with badly broken carpal bones in his paw? The vet is recommending a month of antibiotics to prevent a bone infection. This seems excessive considering there is no sign of infection yet and it has been over a week already. I don’t want to have to use prolonged antibiotics if I can avoid it. The cat seems set on continuing on life despite the dreadful break, even brought us a giant rat just two days ago. Such a good kitty.

I’d use comfrey topically rather than boneset. It’s stronger.

Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.
