To fulfill the assignment for Forum to start the course, I am looking forward to developing an appreciation of Burdock and Nettles (as well as a multitude of others). While I knew it had value, nettles has been something I grumble about when accidentally grabbing it around the irrigation pump or squeeze chute. I mainly knew about the burrs burdock produces. I generally find them in the livestock guardian dogs hair, horse manes and my socks. I was convinced their main method of propagation was to catch a ride on the calves that wander past, in search of new areas to start burdock colonies.
My wife had many medicinal and culinary herbs that I have managed to lose through neglect (with the exception of the Comfrey and Wormwood which even survived me). I am looking forward to re-establishing some of them, and discovering the vast array of native plants and trees that grow on this place.
