The attached photo of a Burdock root shows some white stringy stuff at the top of the root. This is where the leaf stocks were attached and pulled off. Is this white stuff medicinal? Should I cut it off before drying? And, these roots are huge so is it best to dry them for a day or two and then blenderize them, and then lay them out to dry again?

The white stringy stuff probably doesn’t have much medicine in it but it won’t hurt you.

Slice the roots up while they’re fresh or you may have a devil of a time grinding them later.

Did you sing a hymn while digging the burdock roots? I always do…helps me to say fewer bad words. 🙄

Once the roots are sliced up THEN run them through a good food grinder on a coarse setting. You will thank yourself for doing that extra step. I know from trying it.

              Thanks guys!

No singing, but I enjoyed it thoroughly since I was all by myself in the wild 🙂

Do you run them through the blender on course BEFORE you dry them or after they are dried in chunks?

In the FOOD GRINDER after chopping up. WE do not blend them until after they are dry.
