how do you treat ear infections when the eardrum is not intact? My daughter’s right eardrum popped. We didn’t even know she had ear infections. They didn’t hurt. Her Ped gave antibiotics, but I normally treat ear infections with garlic/Mullin oil in the ear, or onion. I can’t do that with it not being intact. I hate to kill her gut flora. What can I do? Also, she always has so much fluid behind her eardrums she is hard of hearing. The ENT suggested a drug to dry it up. Is there a natural option?

Boy, that is a tough one, Sarah!  I would address her diet.  As far as I know, dairy products cause a lot of children to have built up fluid in the ear.  Some people put chosen products on the OUTSIDE of the ear.  I have read where tinctures are rubbed on the OUTSIDE of the ear and NOT put INSIDE ear.  I hope you all are doing better!
