Last fall I made a calendula salve, using Doc Jones’ instructions from the lesson, and just adding in calendula as the infused herb. It has been a wonderful boon to the household, not only in small cuts, but also for soothing insect bites and burns. Maybe that’s the anti-inflammatory action working. I’ve just finished the calendula lesson, and it didn’t mention being calendula being specifically good for such things, so I’m putting this out there so folks will know that when in doubt, and if calendula salve is the only thing available, it will definitely work for bites and and burns. Incidentally, medicine making instructions on this course are wonderfully clear and easy to follow, even for someone who might be notoriously bad at following instructions.
