Recently I just learned about a phytochemical that is showing promising results for lowering cholesterol and improving cardiovascular health: Camphene

I usually focus more on hyssop’s respiratory benefits, but I got really excited when I read about its potential for preventing/reducing heart disease — and to think I learned it on a weed website, lol!

Camphene is also anti-fungal and anti-viral (My lemon balm hasn’t quite taken off yet this year, so I substituted hyssop and pine needles in this year’s batch of lip balm, and I really like it a lot!)

Patrick is also frequently pointing out that many herbs do many things, wear many hats, and are excellent multi-taskers. I have a lot of hyssop– now I know why I have so much of it, lol.

As an aside, even if one avows to never consider using cannabis for whatever reasons one may have, (and please don’t take this as me trying to promote the use of marijuana here, I get that it’s not for everyone!) it is still worth one’s time to do more research about it– as I learn more about cannabis, and all the different chemical properties in cannabis, I learn more about the other plants that have those same chemicals– and are federally legal to use, without any moral reservations.

I didn’t know that about hyssop…she’s been holding out on me!

Thanks for sharing. I always learn something cool when I hang around with herb people. :thumb:
