Does anyone know what to do to neutralize the burn in the eyes that you can get from working with peppers and then touching the eyes?

I know it’s better to use gloves. But if someone didn’t, how do I treat the burning in the eyes?

I usually just flush with water for incidental contact. Sometimes I just let my tears do the flushing.

Not sure what to use to dilute if you got a full on splash of tincture.

I sometimes put a titch of cayenne in my eye drop formulas. It’s zingy but helpful.

I personally find that crying like a baby and sneezing a lot helps to clear unwanted cayenne from the eyes and nose.

I’m a bit late to the party, but I’ve touched my face after washing my hands with soap! after handling Habanero peppers. And it still hurt like a son of a biscuit! I’ve found that a paper towel soaked in milk and held to my eyes is just the ticket. Vegetable oil is another good neutralizer, and in fact, now I wash my hands in veggie oil first, then soap after handling hot peppers. No crying necessary.

                  You’re welcome!
