Doc Jones – is there anything in our herbal arsenal that would deal with the new outbreak in several states of the Chinese deadly pneumonia they call “white lung pneumonia”?  Also a headline in the Denver area: “Ebola Vaccines Administered For The First Time Ever At Denver Health Clinic”.  What do we have to combat that with?  Looks like it’s going to be a rocky winter here in the USA…  Hope you have time to chime in on some remedies that we can have made up and ready in case either hit our areas.

The formulas in the Respiratory preparedness kit and the Three amigos bundle are what I’d use for any respiratory infection. Hae a look at the Respiratory System lessons.

As to the ebola vaccine…I don’t know anything about that one. Sounds like an absurdly unnecessary thing.

Great, I’m good for the respiratory stuff then thanks to your formulas Doc.  What I was asking about the ebola is if it is something that is about to land on the USA – what do we use for that little nasty?  And I agree about the vaccinations for it though.  I’d much rather be prepared herbally!  Thanks in advance.

Sharon, I imagine a vaccine for ebola (or any infectious disease that is prevalent in foreign countries) would be worth developing for programs such as traveling health care professionals, humanitarian aid workers, missionaries, and military personnel.  That could explain why these types of vaccines are being developed and administered in certain urban centers – to test it out.  Having foreign travelers to these countries vaccinated against the deadly exotic infectious diseases could help prevent those diseases from coming to North America.

Along the same line but yet different. I am a healthy 62 yr old, take no meds. I donated a kidney so I just have one. I have a gallbladder issue that I am trying to over come. Monday night I had a bit of acid reflux and I think that I aspirated. Now I feel like I have pneumonia. Yes, I am diagnosing myself. I am away from home and will return tomorrow evening. I don’t have a lot in my arsenal yet but I have a bunch dry of first year mullein leaves. Any thoughts on how that might work. Can’t wait for a tincture so I’m ready to just eat them. And yes, I’m a new student trying to figure out how to use this forum and I need to get to the correct lesson

                thanks for letting me ramble

                    Hi Peggy,

Your mullein has some good antiviral actions against several respiratory viruses. You don’t need to tincture it. You can just powder it and throw it in a smoothie or make a tea. :0)

So Doc – mullein powder in our smoothie can be part of our respiratory ammo against pneumonia, covid, and flu then?  How much powder would you recommend daily (or should it be only when sick)?

I’m not sure but one of the reasons I’m here might be purely for entertainment or maybe an example of what not to do. I discovered another use for mullein. Eating a whole leaf, even a small one will clear up constipation pdq (pretty darn quick). The good news is that I am feeling much better. My lungs are almost clear and well, bowel is too. Time for me to get to class and stop all my  nonsense.

Oooh, I may have to try the powder for that! Unfortunately. I don’t have any growing yet. 😀
