Are there ways to know which herbs can be combined to increase their efficacy? I’m currently getting supplements with a company that does this.  Some are effective for me and some I can’t tell a difference.  Do all herbs work the same on all people?

Hi Roxanne, some herbs have no effect on people and some do.  For instance, I gave my wife pinus strobus tincture on her sore neck. I used about 1/2 teaspoon.  She became high as a kite for 15 minutes.  She could not even stand up it was that powerful.  When I use it on myself blah, nothing. I wanted it for help with my foot pain. Now if I ever have to sedate my wife at least I’m set 🙂

No they don’t all work the same on everyone, that’s why getting to know your own body is so important. As for herbs that can increase efficacy, look for anything labeled as a Catalyst herb in the school ( think Cayenne, Peppermint, Black Pepper). Combining those almost always makes everything else work better. For instance, Doc says that when you combine black pepper with turmeric, it increases its efficacy by 2000-6000%, so, definitely worth combining. Also, cayenne and echinacea should always be combined as echinacea can be too mild on its own, cayenne helps wake the body up and aid in absorption.
