Would comfrey be helpful in preventing or reversing bone loss?  Specifically, could it be applied topically in the mouth to prevent or reverse dental bone loss.

I have always been interested to know the answer to that. I have seen videos/read on the topic of Comfrey and eggshells for teeth, but not much after they have completed the trial. I will try it on myself and see how it goes. Comfrey tea as a topical mouth wash rinse, eggshells ground in a capsule from my hens and tooth powder with herbs. I have read other things are good for regrowing teeth. We can only give it a try ourselves and see. I will let you know how I go and what I use.

Claudine, there has been some reseach and dentists that recommend Horsetail for healing some cavities. I’m told it must be specifically Equisetum hyemale this to work and you need to use it for a short period (1-2 weeks) and take breaks as it is not meant for long durations. Do check it out if you are interested in that topic.

Be careful when grinding or working with horsetail powder. It contains a lot of silica and if the dust gets in your lungs it will stay there permanently and cause silicosis.

Hello – I have just started my journey yesterday, so I have a lot to learn. I have a question about Comfrey. I had read that we should not ingest it because it was dangerous. But because you can’t believe everything on the internet. 🙂 I am wondering if that is true. Do you just rinse with the Comfrey tea or do you go ahead and drink it? Thanks for the help.

Could comfrey help with osteopenia or osteoporosis?

There is research showing that comfrey can help with osteoporosis and osteopenia.

There is a complete monograph on comfrey. Have a look. :0)

                        Hello,

I recently heard that someone who has any metal screws, plates, or other medical hardware in their body should not use comfrey because it will attack the metal.  I am not sure if they meant internally or on the places that have the medical hardware. Has anyone heard of this before?

Comfrey doesn’t interact with or attack stainless steel.
