My dad has dementia. He’s very healthy in general. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I recently combined and re-did all the nervous system lessons. The new location for the dementia discussion is Nervous System Lesson II in the Body Systems section.

Using familiar music, especially music associated with emotional and/or nostalgic experiences can be helpful in helping them remember past events.

I don’t know if it would work, but I wonder if you were to break up his day by music so that he begins to associate a certain activity with the music. Sort of an internal, “I do this with this song” or something like that.

Music pathways in the brain cross over memory pathways which is why music can be so beneficial for dementia and other memory related issues.

Have you thought abut what the underlying cause of the dementia could be? Is he living/working in a water damaged house/building so there is mold toxicity in his body? This definitely causes cognitive decline until the person is out of the moldy building/house and the mold is removed from the body. Maybe excessive inflammation? If you want to read up on dementia/Alzheimers by a medical researcher, books by Dr. Dale Bredesen are fantastic. He says there are 6 different types of Alzheimers with 5 of them being treatable. He uses natural remedies in his protocols.
