StudentHaving a friend’s grandson go thru cancer has me on the hunt for an Essiac tea blend, but betting with Doc’s knowledge of all things herbal – that he has a formula for the HGH version (that I would assume would be even better than the commercial version). Anyone (ahem, Doc?) have a formula for it?

StudentTopic AuthorStill hoping to get a “recipe” for essiac from our knowledgeable group – I would prefer Doc’s knowledge and recipe over the “official” essiac tea (who knows how much actual herbal knowledge the creators of the “official” stuff have vs. our amazing Doc Jones)! I am assuming that the reason this tea works on so many things (including cancer), is because of it’s great effect on the liver. Correct me if I am wrong please.

StudentI am so sorry that your friend is going through this. Have you looked at the Cancer: Pathology and Herbal Interventions Slides 68-73, approximately 1:47:37 into the video.

StudentTopic AuthorYes. Doc mentions essiac tea if I recall correctly, but no formula or mention of any of the ingredients. Just looking for his recipe and the “why” for each ingredient for that particular blend. At this time, the little guy is doing well.

StudentI don’t believe he actually has a formula for the Essiac that he uses. I believe that he recommends more based on the type of cancer and what the person is already being treated with. For example, when I worked on a bladder cancer case a couple of years back, I took the basic premise of the Essiac tea and added or subtracted herbs depending on the client’s needs. My client with pancreatic cancer, I too, took the basic four ingredients and supplemented with Mullein tea, based on the needs. If the client is doing chemo or other prescriptions, I am always very careful. Some herbs that support liver function can cause the medication to be processed too quickly through the body, not giving it enough time to do its job. Cancer is hard on everyone involved. I am sorry I didn’t have better answers. I will continue to pray for you and this situation.

StudentSharon, Doc mentions in his cancer module that the Essiac protocol has some good herbs in it for cleaning out the toxins (as you gleaned already) but he shared that he would add more cancer specific herbs (without further specificity). Some mentions in his individual herbs lessons worth another review are turmeric (cancer cell apoptosis), rhemania, red clover, … age of the grandson is important too for safety of herbs. Christa seems to have a good handle on some other useful herbs if she is able to expand on that some more, I would be interested to read too.
From my previous “trip down the rabbit hole”, I have read that Essiac formula is based on Burdock, Sheep sorrel, Slippery elm, and Turkey rhubarb. Most blends sold state Sheep sorrel herb in the ingredients but do not include the root. Rene Caisse, herself, is on the record reporting how important it is to use the root and all as the root is a crucial part of the blend. Commercial producers are understandably unwilling to include the roots in their products so you are justified in your skepticism of commercial products, in my opinion. There are a couple of websites that credit themselves to be direct recipients of her formula with confidence that they have the bonafide protocol but I found another website that said they have the true and complete formula which actually has 8 herbs. Blue Moon Herbs has the info if you want to take a look. That was the last source I found on this subject when I quit my research. I found it all very interesting and the aforementioned website seems credible based on previous articles written.
I hope you find this helpful in your search for the right protocol. And prayers for you and your friends.
