Dog has frequent filled anal glands.

He is 4 yrs old and always had problems with filled anal glands. He is always digging at them, even after evacuation. He has frequent visits to the vet, so he’s up to date on wormer and all that good stuff. Is there something up with this that we might be overlooking? Can we put an herb on it? looking for suggestions. Thank you !

I did read the itchy bottom post, and your reply. Is it loose stools that make the glands fill faster? This is the first dog we have had with such a frequent problem. Thanks again! 🙂

Adding some fiber to the diet sometimes helps. Most dogs will eat pumpkin happily.

Some dogs just need them emptied once a month or so.

Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.
