I have searched the lessons, the student forum, and chatted with Herbert:) I have two clients that have pretty severe dystonia. One is in her late 20s and the other her mid 30s. Both are taking teasel and seeing some great results. But it doesn’t seem to be helping with the dystonia. I’ve done an online search and I’m drawing a blank. Both of these women no longer take any medications. Can anyone help with suggestions? I’m not sure if the direction to go is herbs for the brain or muscles or both.

@homegrownherbalist   I’m hoping someone will chime in!  The one in her 30’s had encephalitis twice as a child.  She seemed to recover from the one when she was two.  It reoccured at five and she’s had issues ever since.  Her dystonia seems to stay stable for a while but now it’s progressively getting worse.  It’s affecting her speech more now.  She typically would have trouble getting words out but now it’s like her tongue gets stuck too.  Her goal is to stay off meds as they only helped slightly and had side effects.

In addition to the teasel, you might have a look at the Memory and Alertness formula. The herbs in that one all have neuroprotective actions and also help with neurotransmitter balance and function.

Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.
