StudentI recently was watching an herbalist on youtube and she would create her tincture and at some point in the extracting process she will often take an emulsion blender to further break up the plant matter. Thoughts on this?

StudentIn some ways, it would seem that it would work as good as powdering, but less mess and wear and tear on my vitamix! I can’t wait to see the other answers. Good question.

StudentThis is just my opinion and how I do my tinctures, but I create my expanded surface area BEFORE I add put my herbs into my jars for tincturing. It saves a step for later. Perhaps that particular herbalist has their own process that works for them, that is what is wonderful about this!

Homestead InstructorI grind the powder before I tincture. Might as well have good surface area for the whole process.

StudentAt the risk of sounding uninformed, would someone tell me what a magic butter machine is?

Studentmagicook or magicbutter They blend, heat and extract so its a food processor and herbal infuser, looks like a big jug with a lid that has a blender blade sticking out of it. I thought I could use it to cut down my tincture time if I need to use them asap, not sure if still as good as one that’s been left to cure for a few weeks. Not necessary to buy as you can use your own blender and stovetop for all your extracts.
