StudentWould Cayenne work in cases where an epipen is needed, but unavailable?
Is arnica a good solution for chronic plantar fasciitis? What is recommended?
Any good leads for herbalist(s) in Mexico (Central, Western, Sierra Madre occidental montian range region)?

Homestead InstructorFor anaphylaxis an epi pen is a really good idea. If I didn’t have one, I’d use Brigham tea for its antihistamine effects but cayenne could also come in handy to prevent shock.

Homestead InstructorFor the pain of plantar fasciitis, topical tinctures of hops, teasel, Rest Easy, or sagebrush are good.
TO actually resolve the problem, mechanical things like rolling a hard ball under the foot can help.
I treated my wife by rolling the back of her calves and the bottoms of her feet with a small rolling pin. several times. She didn’t think it was much fun but it really helped stop the problem.I haven’t tried Arnica on it. It’d probably work for the pain as well.
Kelsey, I don’t know an herbalist in Mexico. But if you keep studying, we’ll have one soon. :0)

Are you saying hops and teasel as in combined in a tincture or 2 separate tincures?

Homestead InstructorI’ve used either or both. I once used pine needle tincture on a bad case as well and got immediate results.

StudentHi! I am 99% recovered from PF! Like “Doc” said, rolling a ball (as well as other therapeutic exercises) are really instrumental in healing. It’s important to do them every day, before you set out to abuse your feet at work. An ice pack is good too. In fact, freeze a water bottle and do your exercises with that! The second, equally important thing that helped me is a good pair of orthotic shoes, or just a really great orthotic insert. I took the manufacturer’s memory foam insoles out of my Skechers Go Walk shoes and replaced them with a $30 pair of orthotic insoles by Walk Hero. Best. Product. Ever. For summer, I also found a pair of orthotic sports sandals by Ork (not “oak”) Tree. I found them to be very comfortable and supportive, and after just a month of wearing them, my pain was almost completely gone. As for the inflammation and foot cramps that come with PF, give cramp bark a try. Now, in full disclosure, I am not on my feet all day, so I was able to heal more easily. I imagine those who work on their feet are even more challenged by PF. Good luck, I hope you feel better soon! Oh- I also wear orthotic slides in the house, rather than go barefoot.

StudentI suffered from that for about a year all told. I was living in France at the time and finally used a homeopathic remedy, Hekla Lava 5ch, by Boiron, which cured it.
I have no idea how to obtain offbeat homeopathic remedies in the states as it’s already hard to get the more standard ones here! But this treatment does work permanently, albeit a bit slowly.
