Yeah, so do the rest of us!!!!!! :boggle: Been wondering what it is. Have a scientific name for it?
Never mind I found this on the source of all human knowledge:
Just more evidence that nearly EVERY plant has been used for medicinal purposes at some point.
Patrick, our herb walk just got longer again!!!!!!!!

Awesome! It says one of it’s uses is for asthma. Would you recommend making it into a tincture for treating asthma or would a tea be better?

StudentThe link says flixweed is good for calculus complaints. Huh. I wish I had had some of this when my boys were taking calculus in high school! 🙄

Just a quick word about flixweed…
So I’ve been fighting off a sinus infection… ( it kind of stinks that even though we have all these amazing healing plants and things we are still to required to be mortal and experience sickness) anyway my head was so full of (if you’re squeamish do not continue reading) my head was full of what I can only describe as a thick green pudding like substance that sometimes drained profusely and other times refused to budge, leaving me feeling like I was strangling and gasping for air. Needless to say It was NOT FUN! Anyway to make a long slimy story short and…. less slimy, I felt prompted to use the flixweed. It worked GREAT!!! Loosening and clearing things out of my sinuses quite quickly! I am feeling much better. The intensity of the infection has not returned since taking the flixweed. Needless to say it’s one of my new favorites! Sure happy I picked and dried it this summer. I just knew with the amount of plants that popped up in backyard I must need it for something! Turns out I DID! haha
I LOVE WEEDS!
Just wanted to share that with anyone who might be able to benefit from it. 🙂
Disclaimer….Just remember I’m no doctor! Just one person sharing one experience. My advice… ALWAYS turn to THE MASTER herbalist…. 😉

So, do you think it helped by breaking the infection or by loosening the mucus? Sounds like it would be a good one/two punch with Brigham Tea!

Dr. Patrick Jones
Homestead InstructorI’ve been meaning to make this a favorite but haven’t started using it yet. Certainly easier to come by in the wild than Lobelia or some of the other antiasthmatics

Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.

Sorry that we missed this question.
The best way to use ANY herb is to get it into your body…. no, really. :face palm 2:
