Forgive me if this has already been addressed, but I’m wondering about the frequency one should smoke mullein leaf? For example, when a person has an upper respiratory infection.  How long does the benefit last?

        Thank you in advance!

I was sick this past week with some respiratory infection. I just made a tea out of it and drank that and it worked beautifully. I know people talk about smoking it, but I haven’t heard the reasons why someone would do that over making a tea where you can measure how much mullein you want to consume.

I am guessing the difference between the Tea vs. smoking Mullein would be that smoking is a more direct approach to the lungs.

I’m curious about this, too. And, if drying mullein, rolling it in paper, and smoking it winds up being bad, what about “steaming.” (Putting the dried herb in a bowl of steaming water, putting a towel over the back of the head, making a tent over the steaming bowl, and inhaling.) I have a friend who has COPD from smoking cigarettes. It’s nearly killed him twice. He is taking mullein capsules and they’re helping a little. I wonder if the mullein were to come into direct contact with lung tissue if that would be more helpful.

I am very new here and just finished the Forms and Dosing unit. Doc didn’t discuss smoking or steaming there. Maybe he’ll get to it later, though. He keeps mentioning units to come, so maybe in the Lungs unit. 🙂

I appreciate this question, and I look forward to the replies.
