Doc, would you mind giving me the rationale for each of the plants in the IFXN-Fungal Topical? I’d like to know which fungus is targeted by each plant if you know, and what does licorice do in the second formula?

This one is in the module: bergamot, black walnut, chamomile, garlic, goldenseal root.

This is the one on HGH for sale: bergamot, black walnut, calendula, garlic, licorice.

        Thanks a ton!

I think I read somewhere that Licorice is valuable in a formula to help with circulation of the other herbs and acts a s a synergist.

I can’t speak for Doc’s reason for the swap. What I do see is Licorice is a demulcent,  catalyst, and has a “cortisone-like anti-inflammatory effect”  it would make a good replacement for the Slippery Elm in this formula. Slippery Elm is a great demulcent and has some wonderful properties, but it is at risk of being endangered and does not have the same catalyst action or  “cortisone-like anti-inflammatory effect” as Licorice. This is just my opinion from my research, knowledge, and use of the plants. I hope Doc answers so we can understand his reasons.

Hey Doc, Maybe you missed this question. I’d still like to know about each of the plants in this formula. The info is not on the module.  Thank you.

Bergamot, black walnut and garlic are classic anti-fungal herbs. Calendula, chamomile and goldenseal bring anti-microbial properties.  Yep, licorice harmonizes.  I enjoy learning from the formula variations Doc has used over time.  The herbs are so adaptable as simples or in combination.
