Hi, I have a goat that bagged up about a year ago and wasn’t pregnant. Despite all of our efforts, she still has the bag but it doesn’t have mastitis or any infections etc.

She started breathing quite hard this winter and it has gotten worse. Like a labored breathing mostly, no mucus, no runny nose, no temperature. Very little coughing. The vet came out and thought it was worms, so tried ivermectin and of course wanted to try some prednisone. Neither has had any effect.

We have tried comfrey leaves (which she periodically wants to eat), Resp Exp tinctures, Lobellia tincture and Mullein leaves (fresh, she didn’t want to eat them.)

Any ideas? She eats and hangs with the other goats but it is clearly wearing her down,

        Thanks for any ideas,

        Shaundele

Hoping Doc can answer this one. She has been having labored breathing for over three months now and it’s worse in the heat. She does still eat and move around but is having a hard time. the vet did some blood tests and looked at her but couldn’t find anything wrong. She does not have a runny nose, nor a fever, and only coughs occasionally. You can hear her breathing about 20 feet away.

I now have her on a twice a day tincture mixture of lobelia, Brigham Tea, and Echinacea. She seems a little better but not much.
