Recently a friend asked me for my arthritis remedy which is dried Golden Rod leaves. My friend is nearly 80 with terminal cancer and diabetes. No we didn’t cure his cancer, but his blood sugar dropped into the 70’s and stayed for nearly 2 months. He had to keep lowering his insulin dose. Then recently his blood sugar began to increase. My first thought was the early spring Golden Rod had more concentrated constituents. Then I wondered about shelf life. I made him a new batch of dried leaves and in about 3 days his blood sugar began dropping again. Yes. It also helped his arthritis. Though the best results come from adding the GR to coffee. Anyone else use GR? I’m thinking about freezing the leaves to prolong the shelf life. Prequel to all this… I began using GR to reduce my bathroom breaks. Man over 50 syndrome. It works well for that.

I’ve only used it for its anti-fungal and respiratory applications. The blood sugar info is interesting.

Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.

I haven’t used goldern rod for blood sugar either but i have used Jerusalem artichokes or sun chokes they are a really good replacement for potatoes. they don’t have starch like potatoes do.
