        Hi All,

Wondering if anyone could assist with suggestions on herbs that are safe to take while pregnant and trying to deal with a inflammation condition that causes nerve pain. My wife was recently diagnosed with Arachnoiditis and more recently found out that she was pregnant.

Looking to see if she can take Ashwagandha still while pregnant or Ginger. Have not been able to find a Herbalist in my area and the general Doctors dont have know.

Thanks and would appreciated any input or resources that may be helpful.

Ginger is an excellent herb for pregnant women. Ashwaganda has abortificant potentials so it would be best to avoid that. Congratulations on your little one. Susan Weed’s A Guide for the Childbearing Years would be a great resource for safe herbs during this time.

This formula could be used for nerve pain topically as a tincture.

Also, cutting back on simple carbs and sugars and nightshade veggies Tomatoes, potatoes, eggplant etc…) can help decrease inflammation

Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.
