I have enjoyed learning from Doc when he has been a guest on Marjory’s Summits. Great stuff!

I am a mom of 5 homebirthed, homeschooled children. We hail from Canada. It was through various avenues that I started getting interested in herbalism. First it was my aunt, then my midwives, frustration with doctors, avoiding additives, watching summits…and here I am. :yahoo:

We have used plantain successfully in deworming some colts and reducing cold symptoms in ourselves (and more). We have treated our poultry in not so ideal situations as well with great success. I am currently looking for solutions for other issues and of course, herbs are a good thing to explore.

I am very interested in natural/sustainable DIY living, natural health, becoming a bereavement doula (once my kids are older), and educating moms to be & new moms about how to care for themselves and their babies. In the meantime, I also want to take good care of myself & my family.

Hello there! Nice to “meet” you. I am a strong advocate for homeschooling. I also admire (and envy a little) women who homebirth, even though I was not a safe candidate myself.

Sounds like you’re right up our ally Laurie. Welcome. :0)

Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.

We have several forum sections where it sounds like your expertise would be very welcome.

Bereavement Doula. I didn’t know that was a “thing”. I am a RN. If that is not a “thing” I think is should be. I can definitely see it would be useful, helpful, and wonderful to those in need. I am new here too, so welcome!
