What herbs or which herbal formula would be the best for someone infected with coronavirus?

Infxn Bugbuster?  Respiratory EXP? Artemisia Annua?

        all of the above? ;-D

I am just getting over 3 weeks of Covid. Because I am new to this school, most of the information is new to me. In the second week of the virus I began taking nutritive tonic tincture and pine needle tincture. I also am taking grindelia tincture. Before I received the pine needle tincture, I made my own using the prolific needles of the white pines where I live. I must have drank too much because I felt like I was going to vomit! However, the pine needle tincture and nutritive tonic feel very nourishing and helpful in making sure I am getting the proper nourishment for my body and lungs. I continue to have what feels like chest and maybe heart inflammation and it has been worrisome. Each day I have been sick I try to get outside and experience sunshine and fresh air. Yesterday as I was out I spotted a beautiful, flowering mullein. Because I am watching Doc’s video on the respiratory system, and a I also watched a YouTube he created on mullein, I decided to pick the plant. It is a beautiful, soft  plant. I’ve been boiling water, taking the water off the heat and adding leaves. Then, I steam my lungs by putting my head over the steaming pot. I also drink the boiled water with the leaves as tea, although I think I may have overdone it because I feel spacey. However, finally, the stuff in my lungs is breaking up and I feel the sickness lifting, thankfully. A deep bow to all of the herbs, and especially the fresh mullein. It is so humbling to experience the healing properties of plants. We live on a beautiful  and generous earth, that’s what I think!

I believe Doc has Covid observations on the blog, which I found this week, a bit late in the game.

My question is, why did the fresh mullein seem to do the trick, or was it just that it was later in the game for me and I have had a chance to heal some? If one herb that is an expectorant doesn’t work for me, should I then try another herb that is an expectorant? Why would one expectorant work well, and another not as well?

          Thank you!

One last thing – it is because of Covid I found this school as I had some time on my hands to explore available programs. I’m so happy to have found the school!

If I think I’m exposed or am in the early stages I use these:

            INFXN Shoofloo

            Immunity Support

            Chaga

            Pine Needle

            Artemisia annua

Sometimes I do Cold Away as well.

As the illness progresses, I’m liable to change things as needed for the issues it’s causing.

I have a kit called the Respiratory Preparedness Kit. With it comes a description of the formulas it contains  and how and when to use them in the course of the illness. I’ll post that document on the respiratory lesson in the next few days…Actually, if you go to the kit product page using the link above, there’s a link that says, Click Here To See How To Use This Kit. That’ll take you to the document.

Barbara is right that there are a number of blog articles on homegrownherbalist.net talking about Covid. Just do a search for covid and it’ll pull them up. Those are worth a read.

Also Barbara, the mullein you took for expectorant or cough suppressant properties also has some pretty potent antiviral properties against influenzas and coronaviruses. Herbs have a hard time making up their minds and often get involved in unexpected side projects.

Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.

Doc, you said: “the mullein you took for expectorant or cough suppressant properties also has some pretty potent antiviral properties against influenzas and coronaviruses” – would that be in a dried form ingested (like in a smoothie), fresh only ingested, or as a tincture?  I thought that mucilaginous herbs didn’t tincture well…  Since we are once again in the virus time of year, this could be great info to have on hand!  Thanks as always Doc – you’re my herbal hero!

this is a helpful post. I dried some of the mullein I found this summer and have it on hand for the coming winter for any respiratory illness, for tea or steam.
