I was wondering if the poultice formula Doc recommends for treating wounds could be used on an infected surgical incision, or just a regular surgical incision. I’m concerned the comfrey would cause the wound to seal up…which would be good but what if it needs to drain a bit? If not poultice formula, any other recommendations to use on a surgical incision to promote healthy healing and prevent infection/treat infection? Thank you!!

Doc has a specific drawing poultice (calendula, plantain, flax, cayenne) for draining infection, no comfrey.

I wouldn’t use comfrey on an infected wound. I’d use antibiotic herbs and immune stimulating herbs until the infection was cleaned up and then go with the comfrey/poultice formula.

Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.
