        Hey everyone,

I’m brand new here, but I’ve been following (stalking?!!) Doc Jones on YouTube for quite a few years now. Finally took the leap and signed up for the course after really enjoying his courses on the Josh Thomas’ School of Traditional Skills.

I’m slowly learning to ID more plants, traditionally I’ve suffered from brown thumbs but I’m learning how to grow things and keep them alive, and I’ve just this year started another herb garden after killing mint, sage and rosemary on multiple occasions. I can very successfully grow Aloe Vera because the more it’s neglected, the better it goes. Bought a few little organic plants from Mudbrick Cottage and they arrived in the post and have picked up really well since I potted them, so I bought a few more and potted them, and just purchased a couple more yesterday. I just repotted my first lot into bigger pots and can’t believe how the root systems on the Burdock and Elacampaign (?sp) have gone nuts!
So far, I’m going well! Next step- listen to a few more monographs and work out how and when to harvest them, then start using them 😂

I have a very long list of plants that I want to try, but I’ve started with Burdock, Yarrow, Mullein, Elacampaign, Sweet Wormwood and Wormwood, Feverfew, Self Heal, Comfrey, Arnica, Cayenne and Lobeli. I have mint and Lemon Balm as well which I was given and I’ve not killed them yet- almost but I’m getting better at remembering to water them which helps 😂

Question- is there any info in the course that talks about how to seed save or re-propagate our plants? I’ve noticed some of them are going gang busters in the pot, and Doc Jones often talks about the ones that need copious amounts of concrete around them so as not to take over your property, but is this info readily available in this course or do I need to search YouTube for more info on the ones that will die off each year?

Welcome Sally! Doc Jones’ classes on the SOTS are pretty great, and you’ll learn so much more here! Nothing comes to mind specifically about seed saving or re-propagating, although you might find more information in the plant specific modules.
