StudentA couple months back, I watched Doc Jones’ video on pain management, and was really interested in trying some hops tincture for my husband, Andrew. He has ankylosing spondylytis, and has chronic pain because of it. Sometimes intense pain will just come on for no apparent reason, so I really wanted him to try the hops tincture.
Finally found some hops from Starwest Botanicals on Amazon to make tincture with. Last night we had the chance to try it out. It had been exactly two weeks since I made it. Last night, when his neck really started to hurt, I said, “I have just the thing for you!” He put the hops tincture on the painful spot and said he could feel something happening immediately! Within a few minutes, the pain was nearly gone! He put on some more before he went to bed, and even took a teaspoonful of the tincture. He slept all night long, which is very unusual for him. He felt great this morning! It’s great to have an alternative to the pain meds from the VA.
My hands were achy tonight because of too much snow shoveling yesterday, so I got to try the hops tincture myself tonight. Wow, that stuff really works! My hands feel so much better!
Thanks, Doc! And thanks to God, Who created all these amazing plant helpers for us!

Homestead InstructorHops is wonderful stuff. One of my first grabs for topical pain use.

StudentYep, my hubby was made a big believer with just hops as his first “real” experience with herbs! He loves it now!

StudentTopic AuthorI’ve been giving my husband herbs for years, so he’s more than willing to try them out. The hops tincture is amazing! Wish I’d known about this years ago!

Homestead InstructorHops tincture topically is really great for sore joints. Internally the Joint support formula is good as well. Have a look at the Pain Management lessons for other new friends for Mom. :0)
Also, have a look at the Case Study on David in the Case studies section. I talk a lot about inflammation pain there and things that can help.
