StudentHi, completing the asignment for navigating the forum without actually posting a new post. I saw Dr. Jones post about “checking the forum before making new posts”. This isn’t my first trip around the herbal wheel but am pretty pumped on what Dr. Jones has going here! Him being a Vet is what really snagged me to this particular school.

StudentHello, I am completing the assignment for navigating the forum.
I’m Lisa from Cincinnati, 65 yrs old and decided its never to late to learn something new;-) I’ve been doing massage for 40 yrs. 15yrs ago I started part time in a Health food store. Some of her biggest sellers are burdock, echinacea, black current etc.
I would hear alot of these plant names over and over. I would see Doc Jones on you tube talking about some of the same plants. Doc Jones speaks in a way that I can learn best from. His great sense of humor helps keep me engaged.
Last year, I started planting more than just my kitchen herbs. When I heard about the school and joined up, my loving and very supportive husband of 30 yrs. had know idea what he was in for.
My only experience with a computer is with quicken. He has helped me set up, print and maneuver around the computer. as well as, not roll his eyes, when I would bring home yet, another beautiful plant, to find its spot in its new home.:-) He is always up for a road trip to Groovy Plant Ranch, companion plants or a walk in the woods. I’m around 25-30 medicinal plants excluding my kitchen herbs.
I think my real reason for all of this, is to learn how to stay as healthy as I can, for me. Vaccines and prescription medicine was not something my parents did. Of course, I had the childhood vaccines and so did my children. I did have a knee replacement last year, with success. I have swapped my meloxicam for the joint support and I feel better. I am on no medications and I hope to supplement with medicinal plants when needed.

StudentI’m so glad to see someone so much like me & my situation on here. I was kinda feeling alone. I live in the bush in northern Alaska & am 58 so thought it was about time I start learning some new things also.
