StudentAre there any herbs or alternative medicines that can help a person with Hypothyroid? Dr. Jones, you mentioned, in our herbal class in Salt Lake, that you used some herbs for your daughter’s thyroid.
Thanks

We are struggling with this for my wife too. Lots that we have read about indicate a ‘root cause’ that contributes to the condition. So far it is in the adrenal area but still nothing definitive.

StudentI have used Dr Christopher’s Herbal Thyroid and Thyroid Maintenance with great success. I was able to balance my body and be released from my Rex melds because my numbers were good. I now use when the need arises: winter time and high stress.

I’m thinking Ashwagandha might be a good one to wake up the thyroid. Any one else tried this?

Homestead InstructorI made a formula for my daughter for her low thyroid. It had ashwaganda, milk thistle bilberry…xant remember the rest and am out of town. I’ll Check It When I get home and let you know. It worked pretty well…not as all as the pills. ..but pretty well if you didn’t have pills.

Renee says to really increase minerals to help the thyroid. Also to eliminate any excess stress so it can be :yahoo: !
There are lots of herbs that are great for mineral increase: nettle and the docks come to mind immediately.

I have just read that it is thyroid modulating. I also noticed that it was in the Thyroid Support formula in Silver Linings.

StudentAny ideas about Hashimotos? It isn’t necessarily low thyroid but acts like it because of antibodies. I would like to get off of Armorthyroid. I have a mild case. My daughter’s is more severe.

Yeah, I did that formula for them.
Standard process has some excellent products for thyroid support. They’ve made a huge difference on my dog who’s now off his meds.
