Hopefully your cyst has cleared up by now, but if not (and for anyone else hunting for a solution), here’s my experience. Years ago I developed a ganglion cyst on the back of my wrist. At my next doctor visit (integrative MD) I asked if there was anything I could do. She suggested smashing it with a heavy book, but said they often grow back. It seemed more likely I’d break a bone than the cyst with that treatment — it was pretty sturdy as it twanged my tendon. Some time later I remembered an interview with David Brownstein, MD that I had heard, where he was discussing iodine. He mentioned that it was good for eliminating cysts, specifically fibrocystic breast tissue. I had some Lugol’s solution (diluted iodine) on hand, so thought “Why not?”. I soaked a band-aid and applied it to my wrist. After a few applications, the cyst started shrinking and completely disappeared over the next month. Later that year it reappeared, so I repeated the treatment and it vanished again. It’s been at least ten years now and there’s been no further trace of it. If I develop another cyst anywhere, this will be the first thing I try.
