        Hi There,

A while back, I attending a delightful online lecture by Doc Jones himself on using herbs for pets.

In part of the Q & A, I thought I heard Doc Jones say that it is best to give patients, furry or human, a break one day a week from taking a tincture.

I had not been aware of this principle and am quite interested in finding out if it also applies to St. John’s Wort. I had been concerned that going without the tincture one day a week may negatively affect the patient. Would there be some kind of serotonin “low” that would cause a mood disruption?

It would be very helpful to know if this “one day off per week” applies to ALL tinctures, regardless of their action.

Thank you very much. I would appreciate some help with this.

        Kind regards,

        Happy Homesteader

          Hi Happy!

When I was taking it missing a day or two didnt really hurt. Seems like its a built up effect.

Now I dont take it at all and am doing well. Alot of the stresses I had before are gone. The Lord had to change me first and the situations also improved.

Glad to be off it all the time.

            Hi Sly,

Thank you so kindly for replying to my post. I am truly grateful!

Given your experience, I feel quite confident to take one day off a week.

I am so happy for you to hear that you are off it all the time now. How wonderful for you.

I am hopeful for myself, too. Right now, I have a number of stresses in my life that I can see resolving in the next six months to a year. Then, I will open to trying to reduce it.

I am also active in cultivating many skills (meditation, breathing, exercise) that support my health, along with my faith and spirituality.

God Bless you and thank you kindly for your support!

            Kind regards,

            Happy Homesteader
