I have read that licorice and peppermint is bad for males and effects hormone levels. My relation believes this so much that they avoid any mint flavored products. Any thoughts?

I hope not! My 10 year old son loves peppermint tea and drinks a bunch! I guess I need to know if that’s something we need to change. Thanks for asking!

Yes my son also loved Moroccan mint tea but he researched and found info that because of the peppermint over kill in toothpaste etc. that is affecting hormone levels of males worldwide. I would really like to know if anyone has verified this that doesn’t have something to gain.

Joanne Harrison, great question! Supposedly Peppermint and Spearmint may cause a dip in testosterone levels, however the key word here is may. I know that my husband loves peppermint and spearmint, and just had his levels tested and they were fine. I personally think part of the problem is we have western medicine, and (eastern) more natural meds, herbology, Acupuncture, Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Naturopathy, Chinese or Oriental medicine, that excuse the expression butt heads. I know my family practitioner is not pro-natural meds. and he will do everything in his power to show me how herbs can be bad for the body.
